Cold wind off the sea
Pub lights gone out and door locked
Whose Star in the sky?

Under the big tree
Odd shape in clumsy gift wrap:
Young Sean's first real bow!

Old men, fire, three pints
Coleman's reels not quite in tune
Wild snow swirls and drifts

Family at Mass
Nora croons grandchild to sleep
Angels come to hear

Candles in the church
Warmth for soul, not for body
(Just like the Stable)

Reindeer or donkey?
Tractor or Santa's big sleigh?
Sleepy kids don't care

Old fluter Tadhg says
Beannachtai na Nollaig duit!
Hans and Jacques smile back

Frigid Boston streets
But warmth here in cyberspace
