Small boys run and hide
Mothers quickly bring in wash
Sterile men bang drums

Lips pulled back from teeth
Hoarse meaningless shouts of hate:
Not smiles, not music

Wee Sam slips in puke
Spills beer on grandmaster's sash:
Glorious July twelfth!

Slogans and banners
Cannot dispel scent of death
Not many days left

Call yourselves Christians
Spit in the dark stranger's face
Hope he's not Jesus
