Céad míle fáilte
- a hundred thousand welcomes! If you're looking for Irish music in the
Cape
Cod / Southeastern New England area,
you have come to the right place -
the Cape Irish Productions
homepage.
We are in business to provide the best possible Irish music/dance for
your wedding, christening,
business function, and so forth - in short, for any purpose that you
think might be enhanced
by the presence of Irish music or Irish dance!
We have musicians available from solo singers and flute/guitar duets to
ballad groups to
ceili bands. We specialize in traditional music, dance, and song (think
Chieftains or Cherish
the Ladies) and not so much in "pub music". But once we have an idea
what you're looking for,
we'll be happy to discuss particular ways we can help you.
CIP also sponsors concerts by the very best of traditional musicians -
so far this year (2007),
we've had Sligo flute/whistle virtuoso Carmel Gunning, banjo/accordion
duet Angelina Carberry and Martin Quinn,
and the fiddling Kane Sisters. Keep an eye on the
CAPETRAD page for information
about upcoming performances, as well as regularly scheduled activities
and links to similar sites.
Cape Irish Productions is also a
supporter of the Cape Cod Celtic Society, a non-profit
organization whose motto is "working for our culture and our
community". The CCCS is
active in sponsoring various Celtic events on the Cape year-round, and
also organizes the
annual Cape Cod Celtic Festival.
If you wish to contact us about a specific event, it would help if you
could have the following
information handy:
= the nature of the event (e.g. concert, wedding, business lunch,
family reunion)
= intended date and time if known (just an idea would suffice to get
the dialogue started)
= intended location (town, name of facility)
= indoors/outdoors
= special requirements (e.g., your guests enjoy set dancing; Uncle Ed
wants to do his party
piece, etc etc)
We will be adding features to this
page as time goes on - let us know of any that you think
would be good to have!
